Do you use an HP laptop or know someone that does? This post is for you!
Y-Not Tech Services has found out about a serious security flaw that affects 460 models of HP Laptops. A security researcher has found that these laptops have a keylogger that was pre-installed on the computer. A keylogger is code that will log every keystroke you make and can send that data to someone else. This would include any password you type, any e-mail you send, your bank and credit card information. All of it could end up in the hands of someone else. HP has made a statement saying that they were unaware of this flaw and that they have not collected data from it. In my opinion, HP really isn’t who we need to be worried about here. Now that the flaw is discovered, hackers and other cybercriminals can use it to gain access to your personal data. They can use it to get your banking information, credit card data and as a means to steal your identity.
