Shopping for a new computer can be equally exciting and frustrating. If you’ve been working with a slow computer for a while, the prospect of replacing it with something new, shiny and fast might make you giddy with anticipation (okay, maybe that’s just us). On the other hand, shopping for a new computer can be a real headache! For one thing, there is a myriad of options out there – Apple or Windows? Chromebook? – Laptop or Desktop? On top of those decisions come the technical specifications from well-meaning salespeople. “This one has 8 Gigabytes of DDR4 1300 Mhz RAM, a quad-core i7-8700 CPU, 15.6 Inch 2160 x 1440 qHD IPS panel with a 1 terabyte HDD.” That might sound like a bunch of gibberish or a foreign language to the average consumer. To the salesperson that works with computers all day long, it’s a part of their life and so when they rattle off the specifications at top speed they might not realize the consumer has no idea what they just said.
